Description
A song detailing the give and take of a romantic encounter. So I thought I'd enter it in the "Romantic" genré.

The music fell in place rather quickly (although I feel the break music could be developed further).

The last song I posted I noted the difficulty with coming up with an acceptable second line. This one's lyrical challenge was finding a good last line. A number of possibilities flitted in and out ("She pushed him off the couch," "She took away his crutch," "She kicked him in the crotch," "She calmly parried his thrust") .. until it landed on "She threw him under the bus," which doesn't seem any better .. or worse .. than the others. But that's where it has stopped : )

Lyrics
HE SAID SHE SAID
[Buckley Smith]

He kept clamoring for a kiss
She got pissed
He tried to sneak a pinch
She didn't give an inch
He said: There are places I’d like to take you
She said: Where’s the ticket?
But when he leaned in for a hug
She got worried about being mugged

She said: Do you believe in miracles?
He said: Whenever it's convenient
She said: Do you believe in love at first sight?
He said: Baby, you look magnificent
She said: Do you like sex?
He said: As long as it's frequent
She said: Do you want to have children?
He said: As long as they're not delinquent

He reached out for heaven
She said: Go to hell!
When she crossed her legs
He said: Don't make me beg
She flashed a glimpse of cleavage
He said: Baby, why do you tease me?
But when he tried a touch too much
She threw him under the bus

He Said She Said
Romance in the music-hall. Great lyrics, Warren. Fun times! Until the sad ending... I bet he is praying for a miracle now. Enjoyed. Thanks, Peter.

Warren!
I'm hearing the ghost of Zappa here. Both lyrics and instrumentation are just a little wierd - in a good way of course. Even your selection of genre seems to fit the Zappa-esque nature of the tune.
"As long as they're not delinquent" brilliant!
Cool post!

The Sound and the Story
I don't know, Neil, this sounds completely normal to me .. but everything else I listen to sounds weird : )

I just go where the sound leads me! Same with the storyline.

About Zappa. A good development - his material is now available online (well, at least on Rhapsody, the music service I subscribe to).

Art
Ha-ha, Jack .. I'd argue this effort falls short of perfection, but I appreciate the praise nonetheless. I certainly had fun writing and recording it. That's the kind of artsy thing that gets me high these days : )

Style
Thanks for the kind words and support. I don't try to write with a style as much as simply try to pursue a sound that resonates with whatever I'm trying to conceive at the moment. Sometime that goes nowhere, but every once and a while something good comes out of the process : )
