Description
Back in April, we kicked off a fundraising campaign to raise capital to produce a music video. We put out a request for donations here and had several MacJammers contribute, to which we were very grateful. Two days into the campaign, we had a falling out with the producer, and she quit the project and pulled the plug. Six months of hard work ended, just like that. It was very frustrating, and it also had the unfortunate side effect of killing our creativity for awhile.

Then along came the end tunnel light. The title was just a play on words. Nat took it, created some beautiful lyrics, and frankly, in my opinion, really made it special. Chris came in to the project and layed down a stunning bass track, and once again we find ourselves excited to share our work with our friends.

So, sit back, relax and have a listen, and please let us know what you think. You can also visit our official band page here.

Special thanks to Natalie and Chris - for lending your creative talents to this project, and for your invaluable friendship!

Natalie Scibetta (strangedream) - Lyrics and ALL vocals
Chris Flynn (rok41) - bass
Sig - whatever else happens to be on the recording

End Tunnel Light
Lyrics by Natalie Scibetta
Music by Sigmund

Clawing my way out
As they're making their way in
and my heart revs like an engine
before we begin
I'm looking towards
the end tunnel light
(I'm gonna make it there)
looking towards
the end tunnel light
the end tunnel light

sink or swim
I like your illicit heart and the fire within
and you're ruthless til I'm satisfied
this
radioactive careless skin
I want to collide
but will we survive it?
I'm looking towards
the end tunnel light
I wanna let you in
I'm looking towards
the end tunnel light
the end tunnel light

End tunnel light
(I see the light at the end of the tunnel burning there)
End tunnel light

My feet are burning as I run from everything I know
My blood is churning, can't go back to what I left below
Will there be nothing left for you
if I can't push back, and I can't pull through?
Will there be something on the other side of this life?
Will I outrun the shadows and the skeletons I left behind?
Will there be something left for you
If I can't push back
and I can't pull through?

I need your light

Amazing as usual.
Once you've amazed people a few times it can get harder, yet your crew manage to do it over and over. Real quality performances by all involved, the guitar is mighty on this track, so expressive it is a major part of the emotion that the track projects. Managing to do that when Natalie is singing is a huge achievement, since she is one of the best female singers on the planet in my view. Solid, expressive bass too, and enough said. All involved in this should be proud of their contributions.

Keep this up and you ought to make a mint one day, and I hope you two do so. That I can download stuff of this quality for free without breaking any laws is wonderful, so thanks to all involved.

Wasn't expecting all the rich orchestration. Really beautifully done. Great keyboard parts as well. When the signature Sigmund electric guitars came in the intensity went up several more notches. Brilliant vocals by Nat. Always so expressive. Chris is always on his game. No exception here. Production and mix are as good or better than anything out there. Downloaded!

Lush, cinematic arrangement. Just drooling lusciousness... Womblike warmth, searing power, subtlety, bombast, this has it all. Magnificent work my friend! You all did a spectacular job! As always, I'm deep into envy about Chris' bass work. :)

Sorry to hear
of the loss of the project and the creativity. Personally for me the creativity is the biggest loss. It seems that things happen in life that just drain us dry at time. I've been in that state since January.

Life events have just make making music or chore rather than an exciting undertaking. I have ideas, wants, desires but no energy to lay them down and take them to the next level.

But then again even on my best of days I never have been in the same league as the group you run with. That makes it even worse to have such an amazing group of musicians and creators left dry even for a millisecond is crime. I hope this never happens to you or your group again.

The song is as one would expect simply perfect. Why you guys are not being used for movies, TV shows, specials, concerts and tours is just beyond me. I know you did something that may have gotten TV use but your stuff is simply so much better anything that is being pumped as the next big thing by the air jockeys.

Really spectacular. I will listen again and again for more. But right now I'm pretty speechless.

Hi Mark
The video project was a disappointment, and it was a lot harder on Natalie than myself, as she had developed more of a friendship with this producer than I (all Mr. Business!) had. But we're feeling more back on track with this new song. It helps to have a great community like macjams to be a part of - it's definitely something that helps keep me going, even if I'm not feeling particularly creative. As always Mark, we really appreciate your continued support of our music here - thank you so much for taking the time to listen, and to leave such a nice and thoughtful comment!

End of tunnel light
Rich orchestration. Velvety vocal that soars. Good change with the fuzzy guitar chords around 2:18. Another good development around 3:30 as the lead guitar enters. Chris's bass does what you'd expect it to do - add great drive. Fine song, fine arrangement, fine performances. Quality work, Sig!

Hi Michael!
Really happy to see you, amigo! Thank you for stopping by to listen and comment. You are right about this arrangement - in fact, when I first composed this, it was in an attempt to go back to my earlier roots, if you will - kind of recreate those earlier experiences that were so wonderful and inspiring. That I can also have such exceptionally talented people to work with and help me create that vision is a blessing. And, having made such good and lasting friendships, like with you, just makes it all so much more satisfying. We really appreciate your continued support here, Michael - thanks!

I am quiet sure
the producer will have a future "whot was i thinking" moment that being said ... wow. The backing track is gorgeous. As always the production quality is outstanding. Nat has a bit of Heart working. Chris continues to be one of the most innovative and talented bass men I have ever heard, you guys are amazing. Two thumbs up on the lead guitar. But I do hate one thing about you guys .... "Wow" is such a lame comment to leave but it comes to me every time you guys post. Wow and downloaded.

Hi Jack
The producer in question has some talent, works very hard, and has aspirations of making a name for herself in the film business, so it is very possible that our paths may cross again. But I don't mind telling you it would probably give me a little satisfaction knowing she felt that way, if only for a moment! Anyway, we really appreciate you stopping by to listen and comment so thoughtfully - your continued support here means the world to us - thank you!!

Bright light!
Had to return to grab a copy and tell you guys what an amazing chemistry you have here. Sig, your guitar just gets better and better, and this orchestration blends in beautifully. Chris's bass has always floored me, and whenever I focus in on it I'm hearing a brilliant bass concerto. You guys have the gift! Natalie is a powerful singer, and is perfect with your group. I definitely intend to hear more of her! This is a great performance of a great song. Thanks and congrats to all. (D/L'd)

What a great arrangement. The opening is exquisite. The shift into high gear works really well. The composition is very nice --- pop sensibility while avoiding the cliches. And the fadeout is the right choice, I think. Tasteful musical backing from you and the rokker, with a gorgeous vocal performance from Ms. Dream. Excellent collaboration. It's a hit.

Epic! The power and emotion that is generated in this project is phenomenal. The quality of the progressive pop arrangement and class of the guitar and bass work set this song apart from most MJ offerings. Nat sings the house down (as always) and her lyrics are evocative and mature. Congratulations to the three of you. Did I say it was epic! Epic! Kudos, Peter.

Love this song!
All of your songs are quality music, but I don’t always comment because I don’t have anything to say. But I love this song. I have listened to it dozens of times. I can’t get enough of the intro. It’s so much fun. Great layering. And then it mellows out creating a strong sense of anticipation for when the bass and drums kick into gear. They sound awesome together. They have such a great groove. I really look forward to that bass lick each time in the song. I am compelled to nod my head and rock to the beat. I like the combination of solo with the vocals, and how you play off of each other. I really like how the vocals change up after the bridge; they are powerful through most of the song and then they whisper the last verse - I don’t know why, but I really like that. I really think the repeating vocals at the end of the song stick with you a lot. This is by far my favorite song that you have produced together. Great job to you all!

Put on the good cans for this one
I was pretty sure that this was going to be very good before I hit play. It's way better than that. Your orchestral arrangement to lead the piece and back it here and there is George Martin perfect (not that it sounds like Goeroge's style but it has the taste, range, skill and inspiration of Mr. Martin). If Natalie was bouncing back from the project her lyrics and vocals are all the stronger for it. This lady can really sing. Chris keeps us on a firm foundation with his typical top class bass work, and the other guitar, drum and other sound cues throughout make this as good or better than anything you've all done I the past. Plus, this is a great mix.

Remember, with success like this you are collectively raising the bar on yourselves in measuring future performance. Fortunately for us, we get to benefit. Oh, and that is really kind in allowing dloads.

Congratulations on a memorable and impactful song.

Amazing intro...
...caught my attention from the first note. The orchestration throughout is really superb. To my way of thinking, you have nicely melded classical elements of orchestration with solid rock accompaniment, creating a powerful song that is full of drama and such interesting twists of melody and phrasing. Though I am very late in hearing this post, I am so glad I did this evening. Beautifully done. Congratulations. (Wow. That guitar lead around 4:10 is great, too. So many nice things to listen to here.)
