Johnny Comes Marching Home Improv. and Green Screen

Description
Silent movie set to a civil war video and green screen effect.
This is during a very terribly racist period, so I hope I don't offend. I certainly tried to take out as much offending material as I could with out ruining the whole video !

Offended?
There is a lot in all our countries past that we're not proud of. There is a song called The Year of Jubilo which also dates from the Civil War and I have thought about a version of that but the lyrics would likely offend these days despite it celebrating the emancipation of the slaves - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Coming

But back to this..... Beautifully played so no surprises there. Lots of variations and different styles with a bit of Classical Gas thrown in.

Fine work Bill.

Cheers

Dick

Johnny Comes Marching Home
I knew this was going to be good, I've always loved this song even when I was a kid.

Loved it when it took off...........wow...you certainly haven't offended me with this. Nice one fella, for once I'm speechless and not many people have ever managed that. Love the vid as well.

Outstanding performance ... and the video is what it is
“Watch the video ... not the music track by itself.”   OMG...

The video presentation that you have put together here ... of your masterful(!) fingerstyle guitar performance superimposed against a historical silent-screen performance ... is truly, truly remarkable.   And not, have no fear, in any way offensive.

I am, by birth, “a son of the (American) South,” and therefore very acutely aware of the tragedy that was embodied in this song.   Who can say how many families were dashed against the rocks of the bare fact that (their...) “Johnny” would not come marching?   (I live a stone’s throw from the second most-bloody battlefield of that utterly pointless war.)

The audio-visual impact of your virtuoso guitar performance ... as visually presented in accompaniment with your selection of silent-film video, is, if I may say, “one of the singularly most-outstanding things that I have ever seen on MacJams, in many years.”

Astonishing track!
I was so taken with the mix of audio & video, I didn't recognize the song until it was almost done. For some inscrutable reason, I have seen a lot of vintage film lately with live music, but this is the best one of all. It's such a fine mix of two daunting disciplines; I could easily believe you are a professional (videographer? musician? multi-disciplinary artist?). Beautiful work throughout; you should be very proud indeed!

Love,

MoM
