LSP2: La Casa Ruidosa (Segue Into the Void)

Description
My contribution to the Lost Sounds Project 2. This tune was meant to be included on an album famous for its unusual cover art, but was culled at the last minute in favor of a tune named after a mythical humanoid beast. Can you name both the album and the mythical beast?

First LSP2 listen...
Trippy saxes and other fx over driving rhythm section mixed with some hot soloing. I like the track (including the air tools) a lot but for the life of me I can't guess the artist or the album. Sorry Jim - doesn't take away from your song tho'. A good listen.

Gosh~
I have no idea. I'll bet when it gets tagged I'll say "Of course, of course"! I love the air hammer. Working man's blues, but definitely not Merle Haggard.

ELP Tarkus? That's what the pic of the armadillo made me think of. And you did list this under progressive rock. ELP was progressive.

Tarkus
That is correct. And the mythical beast is a manticore.

Love the heavy vibe
and the rolling beat. The lead guitar is excellent - but I guess I would not have connected it to ELP. Good tune though.

nicely done
never would have guessed ELP from this...but i guess that might be one of the reasons the song was lost?

Tune
ELP did like to dabble in blues rock. And the synths and effects are very vintage. This is a great track but it reminds me of another band and I am having trouble putting a name to them.

I have joked before...
...about ELP often sounding like they bought their instruments at Home Depot.

An authentic 70's stadium blues jamming vignette. Nice one. Thanks, Peter.

How'd I miss this before?
This is delightful -- lovely bit of Lake-y prog. Your clues suggest it would off Tarkus, but I think it would fit right in on Trilogy or even Brain Salad Surgery. Well done!
