Description
Andy Awigza, Mr. Fab, saxophone.

Yes, that's Mr. Spoc's voice! Watch the Star Trek episode "The Way to Eden". It was first broadcast 21 Feb 1969. The concept "Herbert" is part of the first demonization of the hippie subtype on prime time drama television.
On March 1, 1969 Jim Morrison, the lead character in the Doors gave an interview in Miami where he clearly describes how music is made today. Morrison was in trouble cos "Mr. Mojo risen''" perhaps made an appearance during a Miami Doors concert. Morrison made many rambling drug/alcohol fueled interviews where he says the most amazing things. The majority of these experiences are with held from the public, available to only a few select listeners.
Now, what is the "The Absurd"? That is a different notion on either side of the Atlantic. (Zen has a notion like "the absurd".) So read Camus, and the other existentialists. Then Kaufman's Nietsche.
The news broadcast lampoon in this piece is based on a CNN interview where the talking heads examined the possibility the ill fated flight 370 did vanish into a black hole. I could not make that up- it's beyond me.
What is this piece really about? Character assassination? Cultural disintegration? Or a brainwashed, frightened, isolated, pathetic guy who is always willing to share how he feels with everyone else on-line, irregardless of the real subject matter?
By the way, your humble servant is not stooping to make fun of demented people. Some of my best friends are demented.

Absurd & Fab
I like how you kept the vocal down in the mix so as to add to the melange of music and other FX to give it more of a psychedelia feel. The mid section rocks (kind of like Dr. John meets Frank Zappa) and yes, Andy is spot on with the sax line. Solid and engaging sound. What a big finish too with wailing sax and, I presume, a jumping lead guitarist (maybe through the black hole?. The multi-voice outro sounds like something from Firesign Theatre. Cool track Daug. Dloaded.

Hello Doug
Isn't Fab spot on. What a good sport he is as well. My good friend Andy, always ready to throw down on a track. Not many recall the Firesign. I am glad you enjoyed the ride, thanks for the comment.

Hey Andy
This whole thing is actually in response to your request for songs about characters. Perhaps you should think about these things before you make such requests...lol. Once you said it- you were gonna get more than you bargained for... Thanks for your help on this project. Your solo makes the track! Although the demented sax solo no one else has heard is way better in my opinion.

Is There a Doctor In The House?
Dr. Demento, that is. This should be on his playlist. Look HERE for information how to submit material to him.

Beam it up, Scotty... er, Daug. Another entertaining entry. ;)

The break into
the rock n' roll caught me off guard but that's what it's all about. The NSA is amazing... they're even tapping into extraterrestrials. Thanks for letting me express how I feel about this but I don't know where to start. Great collab by the two of you!

Caught off guard with rock-n-roll, that's an arrangers thing ha? Remember ya can always express how ya feel at the Daug House. Ya just have to be responsible for the things ya believe. No Herberts here...

Herbert Absurd
Bit late, Daug. Been travelling. And I can safely say I didn't hear any music like this on the radio in Australia's deep south - Tasmania. There's a chance there is a black hole down there... Good to see the time/space/music/mojo continuum continues to be explored at the Daug house. What can I say? Regards, Peter.
