Dune (SoloMe-o w/SmokeyVW)

Description
SmokeyVW's instrumental evoked images of dunes and desert sands...so that's the sort of vocal I improvised to his lovely track.

Superb.
The singing style really suits your voice and you've had some creative fun with this. Sounds like something that would suit a movie sound-track.

Not quite
The sound I associate with Dune (by Frank Herbert), of which I am currently reading Dune Messiah, but then that is probably not what you were looking for ;-) There is an eastern/arabic influence to the books in general though so this might fit in a movie anyway. Usually they seem to be playing the baliset (made up?) in what I understand as a singer songwriter kind of ballad style.

Whatever.. Well done. Enjoyed!

Thanks and take care,
Henke

interesting indeed
Reminds me a little of when I was younger and living in the middle east.

Great job on this one, too
I really enjoyed the way the vocal sidesteps the tension in Bill's progression, like the intro to a soundtrack. Kind of 'Dead Can Dance'-ish, but without all the reverb! Great track!

Ready for the movies...
You have nailed the sound and characteristics of this Middle-Easten lament. I really like the weave of voices as this develops...It takes a really inventive, creative imagination to find this kind of vocal expression springing from the original track, so this is also quite remarkable in that regard. Nicely done.
