Cool art...
...and the soundtrack is quite a detailed picture itself of the sort of "liquid" quality of the painting (or whatever that is). The whole thing is slithery with motion, life, and, I might add, something that suggests possibility. It's also a little ominous, and would definitely work very effectively in a sci-fi scene that is full of suspense and impending peril. How you get all of that out of an iPad mini and your other toys is a marvel to me. Nice one, Bud.

Something is out there... Ominous and viscous. Compelling track with a fine build up, Bud. Thanks, Peter.

Yep.
Ominous seems to be my default setting. Difficult childhood and all that...haha.

it's all yours. No pesky separate tracks to deal with - there are only two.

world orchestra
kinda cool how the variation of sounds play tricks with ears. i somehow pick up instrument sounds that probably aren't even there. somewhat of a middle eastern psychedelic piece. quite cool.

You hear a little bit of the Tanpura app
that I snagged off the iPad and slipped in there. Dead giveaway no matter how hard I try to disguise it - but so tempting. Thanks for dropping by.

Very cool stuff here
Ominous yes. Especially during the part with the drums I get a Tangerine Dream movie soundtrack feeling, as said above this could go very well with some dark sci-fi movie. Quite incredible for only two one pass recordings, even if there are a lots of gadgets involved in each recording :-)

Thanks and take care,
Henke

Yes - lots of gadgets - mostly the Boomerang
Phrase Sampler to stack up elements. It has a nice way of cutting the previous layer by 2db each time you add a new voice and it slowly breaks down in a way similar to tape because it's only 16bit. Thanks for digging this.

Thanks Karen
I'm having a blast exploring new ideas. I tend to roll tape after I've built something I like which might take about a half hour. The trick now is to shorten the time and perform the process live.

I'll admit, I get envious....
...of the way you play around with sound. There are several MacJammers who have that inventiveness, and I'm always in awe...

You might think I'm nuts, but I hear stuff like this and think of The Beatles, but also of other Sixties-into-Seventies groups, who would've made a track like this, and then somehow crafted a bit of pop songsmithing on top of it...

I keep waiting for the Fripp or Manzanera solo...
bud said 1123 days ago (August 25th, 2014)
Every song starts out as Tomorrow Never Knows
or Within You Without You or Dear Prudence lol. I get what you are saying Ed. In the group I'm working with now we tend towards improvised rehearsals and then we go back over the material and edit together something of a song structure - just as you suggest. This is made from two real time pieces that I'm doing a bunch of to prepare for a solo electronics performance this fall.
