Willie Dixon wrote "I Can't Quit You Baby" for Otis Rush at a recording session in 1956. Apparently, Rush created the now famous turn around. Big Blimp recorded the song on their first record some years later. Cue the lawyers...
For your educational and amusement purposes only, presented, is a parody version of these recordings, the form is not identical and the various facets of this recording only recall the originals.
The tune is a slowish blues in A. The novelty turn around associated with the Big Blimp version is a half step above the tonic and is not mandated by our pretend version.
In an effort to supply your ernest practice needs an 32 bar introduction of synth voicing is provided. Cut this portion off obviously as you will, but part of the CHALLENGE is to navigate seamlessly into your take on the famous form from the ominously modern beginnings.

great soundbed. i hope one of the more accomplished guitar players on this site takes up your challenge; i'd be very interested to hear that. love that double kick drum hit appearing after the break. i wonder if john bonham invented that, or if it was stolen too. fun stuff!

Ah, Mr. Carbon
The Big Blimp guys were thieves, this is now widely known; the kick drum is stolen from Carmine's work with Vanilla Fudge... that guy changed everything, the triplets on the kick, before Carmine, no one could do that...
Your surmise about this project is correct. Only time will tell...
I have posted several of these open labs. This one is mainstream Mr. Carbon. Listen to Otis Rush and Jimmie Page play the things on YouTube... Seems like a fun idea. Rob the thieves... as it were.

Yea, I deserve too much love for that turnaround thang lol. I put a fifth under it in the bass line so the guitarist doesn't even have to make the half step move... the option is still there if one decides to play it like Otis Rush played the thang. We'll see if anyone steps up...

Confession:
I don't understand this kind of music, but I did enjoy how "sonic" this track is and appreciate the care you've taken in mixing all the variations and orchestral elements together. And I agree that there's plenty of space to fill with all sorts of interesting/creative improvisation. It is interesting to me to hear a track that is purposefully tailored to invite others to participate in it. Maybe that's not an absolutely novel idea, but I find it cool, nevertheless, and you've done a particularly good job in providing for that possibility.

For the 32 bar introduction of synth voicing, would give whoever takes you up on this a challange, to get out the opening jitters. Even though that opening could give you the jitters ,btw like how it goes straight into all that ripped off blues playing but you cant put it down
some nice programming on them drums some speed snare very cool enjoyed would like to see if some one takes your challenge

The 32 bars is to get out angst of the 50 years since the actual recording.
Once yer into the thing... it seems natural to play the traditional blues things.
I bought a Pacifica 921 from a Canadian fella who kept it under his bed. Over fifteen years old and barely played when I got it in the mail. The thing was still in tune when I took it out of the box. Anyway, I threw down on this... it is actually a good workout...
