Lyrics
Dodge The Bullet

walked a mile in innocence
caught a ride to insesence
flew in a storm of miscontent
dug my grave from ignorance
finding the faults to every crack
making mistakes you can never take back

i don’t go looking for trouble
but trouble seems to find me
i might dodge a bullet once or twice
trouble is searching for me

i have nowhere in mind to go
just want to drive far away
speeding thru time, guided by lights
following the painted lines
finding the faults to every crack
make mistakes you can never take back

i don’t go looking for trouble
but trouble always finds me
i might dodge the bullet once or twice
trouble is searching for me

i don’t want to say no more
when it rains, when it pours
when it pours
when it pours

we lost the age of innocence
turned the page to vendictiveness
dug in my heels against ignorance
now i seek a shelter from the storm
finding the faults to every crack
make the mistakes you can never take back

The opening riff sets the scene for the chord attacks. I really like the illustration too. One of yours?

Trouble
Like when you get jumping when you sing when it rain and pours then the very cool lead , what a cool ending so abrupt but that stomping guitar leads you all the way very cool song!

on the lead i used a boss harmonizer effect. i like the sound of it so much i would be tempted to use it on every song... but that would be wrong.

great riff intro, really like the rhythm here Vic, very tight playing and a great rocker.
The harmonised guitar riffs sound superb, excellent production.

i had practiced this song every night for a week or so. when i got around to recording it, it was pretty much a breeze to lay down the tracks. lyrics these days don't come as quickly to mind as they use to.

This is one great rocker! I really love how that guitar ushers in each verse. Glad you held onto it. It really came together nicely! I got my copy! T

Impact from the get go. There is real life in this, Vic. Fine riffage and liking the vocal work, too. This is a keeper. Thanks, Peter

i recorded the music at the begining of the year. if i remember right i was thinking something faster then 120 bpm. when the main guitar riff came to mind the rest fell into place

Super tight riffage. Flawless mix. Driving drums. Awesome axe tone. Killer surf-ish sawtoothed leads. I especially like the reverb - very consistent across instruments, but with enough variation to create a very credible "space". Kudos!

getting the mix was nuts. on most guitar tracks i used logics amps & pedals. i found i had to keep reducing gain and distortion to get a better clarity.

Wide-range
I kept waiting for you to make a mistake in this production that couldn't be taken back .. but the recording is virtually flawless : )

This rocker is an expansive workout for your guitar skills and your vocabulary. The variety of both elements is wide-ranging. Of course, you have to jump around when you are dodging bullets.

Going forward, hopefully trouble will be looking for you in the wrong places.

Hey Dude!
I know I always say this, but I am always amazed at how consistent you are and how you can write sooo many good songs, great arrangement, really cool vocal melody, great phrasing! Love the riff! And the staccato beats! Tones are great, it's all good bro! Top notch post! Jd.

the opening riff
both rocks and throws you a bit off balance. the call and response guitar in the verse reminds me of War-era U2, and so does the chorus. You're in fine voice, as well, kind of Bowie-esque. Solid lyrics, too.
