Every country is terrified of foreigners these days. They seem particularly scared of people who will simultaneously take away jobs and go on welfare.

Glad you like it.
Dava (see elsewhere on this post) alerted me to the insanity prevailing over immigration these days. David and I then set it to a relatively unusual time signature. Thank you for the support.

Yes
And the worst ones are the illegal immigrants from Romania who come over here and claim £5,000 a week from the government and are given huge mansions to live in and take our jobs and use up all the National Health resources and are criminals who sell drugs and laze about all day and groom our kids and won't learn English and have no interest in our wonderful British way of life. Send them back and vote for UKIP!

Great music Graham. Started out like a Doors tune, I thought. I really like the 'quiet' bit. Great tone on the guitar, top bass line.

Thanks, Dava
i'm fairly sure I got the notion of someone simultaneously poaching and neglecting jobs from one of your posts. This is what you wrought. I bet UKIP are trembling.

My comment disappeared.. I may have clicked too soon.. I especially liked the bridge part with unique guitar sound and percussion.. Vocally, reminded me of frank Zappa..

I guess it's happening all over the world.. I think the culpability is with the government , not so much those that are foreign to the country..so hey, if they can get it...and the beat goes on

Percussion
is a home - grown coconut at that point. The rest is Ace Percussionist David McNair. Thanks for listening, Mme Hooligan, and stay out of Shafsbury! (Bill Hicks reference, in case you were confused or offended.)

A
great bass line Graham, I really like the guitars and panning of instruments.
Good to see you posting music again, you're quite prolific at the moment.
Enjoyed.

It's pent - up rage.
Not really. We had a lot of things going on - a change of country, many changes of equipment, so lots of stuff was nearly but not quite finished. We have a backlog right now, so I'm feeding them to MJ a bit at a time. Ta for listening, Bob.

Love the middle section!
Great stuff Graham. Edgy and definitely different. The guitars sound perfect (especially the middle bit) and the drums are suitably unrestrained - like the bassline a lot too. An allround good post!
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Deliberately dreary
to try and suggest someone lounging around on welfare, then gets more mocking and raucous towards the end. I was really pleased to get such a clean acoustic sound - having an Ovation with a fresh battery helps. Thanks for listening, Neil.

Stranger
A great British rocker with unmistakable Beatles influence. That middle part with acoustic guitar is a killer, like others have mentioned. Is that character your drawing? He seems to travel all over the world.

He's a sock puppet.
I try to do something sock - related for each song, as David and I are the nucleus of The Rocking Sock Puppet, the rockingest footwear this side of The Plimsoles. The middle is deliberately Beatley/Krimmy, so thanks for spotting it.

Backlog!
You're right about digging into the backlog :) I had pretty much forgotten about recording this triplet double kick demo months ago. It's neat to hear the past pop up.

Stocktaking
is long overdue. I think we have enough rock for a rock album, enough acoustic for an acoustic one and so on.

crunchy guitar
is always good. very relevant subject matter, and i liked how the music pantomimed what you were trying to get across

See Neil's section
for how the music was constructed. If I can create a relevant musical pantomime, I'm one happy sock! Thanks for the comments, tf.

Love this one, the lyric content is dead-on.
Suggestions: turn the highs on the guitars down a bit. Back up the guitar perceived loudness relative to the rest of the track. Please, and turn up the snare.
Create an rhythm delight and then leave the percussion so low in the mix! Zenophobia don't sound like that... :)

Fabulous. I hadn't noticed before reading Daug's comment, but I s'pose the drums could come up a bit. Nevertheless, this kicks ass.

The seven - string Ibanez I use has a nice meaty chord tone, perfect for ass - kicking. Happy you liked it, Les.

Quality, thought-provoking music. Lots of influences shine through and I like the crunchy, panned Gilmour-styled call/response section near the end. Bass is great, too. Fine post. Thanks, Peter.

Less is more
I tweaked the guitar a bit to get the overdriven sound, but I don't need to do anything to get the bass to sound good. It does that all by itself. Definitely a good investment. Thanks for the kind words, Vic.

like an electric shock!!!
this one hit-cha straight out of the box boy...!!! and then the interesting switch up, great guitar sounds in there...and great chord changes. this is an interesting composition. OH and then lyrics,..look out world!!! lots to capture the imagination in this one.

Cheers, Michael
I too have several new guitars, and what a difference they have made. It's liberating not to have to worry about going out of tune if you bend a string. And having seven strings to play with is interesting, to put it mildly. I tried to keep the recording as clean and electric as possible, to suggest the shock of the new (or something.) Thank you very much for your support.

Ta very much, Chris.
It would be much fun to play this live. Unlikely, unless I get a job in Korea or David joins the Navy. But stranger things have happened. Stranger, more dangerous things. Thanks very much for listening.

Opportunity knocks
I'm really liking the music here (I'm still trying to wrap my head around a guitar with seven strings - I have enough trouble trying to play six). But what happened to the lyrics? This seems like such a promising contemporary subject to address .. or spoof .. that it needs more development than a two-line rhyming couplet and the repetitive "Look out world." There's opportunity here : )

I'm not wordy
I summarised a post by Dava Jonah on Facebook, and didn't want to labour it. More importantly, the 7 - string gives one loads of interesting tapping possibilities. It's a poor man's Chapman Stick, and can give you instant, easy power chords while you go weedle - dee on the top strings. Fun! Thanks for your remarks, Warren.
