Lyrics
I Know

the hands you held
and squeezed so tight
forever you would hold
never wanting to let go

i know what your thinking
every day and night
i know that you are wondering
every day and night

emotions you saw
to feel them yourself
happiness with setbacks
slices of heaven and hell

i know what your thinking
every day and night
i know that you are wondering
every day and night

i know, i know, i know

behind your eyes
you saw truth and lies
sometimes you recall
a lost day in the life

i know what your thinking
every day and night
i know that you’re wondering
every day and night

Intro chord changes...
Indeed.
This is a guitar feast. Love effects. A call and response between your vocal and geetar. Love the smooth guitar solo. Thanks Vic for another cool song. I have no idea what a presonus firemobile or Boss GP-10 are, but I know I like them...
Vic Holman said 851 days ago (April 23rd, 2015)
thanks jack
firebox is my audio interface & the gp-10 is a guitar processor that not only does guitar effects but is also midi with different guitar models, like the solo is a nylon acoustic. plus it has some built in synthesizers too.

this is probably the less guitar tracks i have put into a song. the main guitar anther electric used in a few spots and a nylon guitar for the solo, thanks for the listen.

Your
GP-10 has inspired you to write quite a few songs now Vic and I'm sure there are many more to come.
This is excellent, love the guitar sounds here, nice riffs and a superb solo, what a wonderful tone.
Very much enjoyed, great stuff!

the best mutli proccessor effect purchase i have ever made. there is a lot of modeled guitars and some synths too. i now have no reason to purchase anymore guitar, electric or acoustic

Some freakiness
dont know why but the way it goes back and forth with the guitar and bass like a snake rounding a corner, some clean leading very tasty tops again like the pace smooth I know :)

Fortune telling
I pulled out my old Magic 8 Ball to ask it what it thought of this song, but it was no help because it said "Reply hazy ask again later" : )

Great guitar tones here .. and that opening is warm and wonderful.

I see a bright future for you in music.

i remember back when i had a magic 8 ball... it kept saying try again. so years later i keep trying. the beginning bit came after i thought i had the song ready for recording. the previous evening before recording that came about when i was playing around and thought, well this would make a nice intro, glad you approved.

it did take awhile to get a mix. problem was getting more of the space echo on the main guitar to shine through.

You do know
a thing or two. As you often do, you insert unexpected timings -- that riff -- in a way that's not actually jarring --- very natural. Simple, stripped down, and effective. And that guitar sounds great, just to echo the other comments.

yeah that riff. i wasn't so much as thinking of it fitting into a structured time signature when i was playing it. but realized it comes out as 7/8. i had to play the drums on the keyboard to work around that.

I agree with Les. You are the master at taking chord progressions and riffs in a slightly different direction than dictated by conventional wisdom, Vic. It contributes to that trademark VH sound, so evident here. Really like your vocal work on this one, too. Thanks, Peter.

after a lot of years you pick up interesting chords and how to work them in, or just moving a finger or two just to hear what happens. i find that inspiring after recording so many songs. thanks again.

Nice chords
and a super nice guitar processor. I just got a cheap Zoom, (but even that's impressive). I now know what I'm buying to replace it.

if you do get one make sure it's the one with the midi pickup. it's easiest to install on a strat style guitar, there is well over a dozen modeled guitars as well. you probably will never need to buy another guitar with this piece of equipment.

Your style is instantly recognizable, Vic - I like the way you throw off the rhythm during the verses - very interesting! Guitar tone is cool on this one too - I'm assuming that's the GP-10 at work. I enjoyed this one Vic - thanks!
