Piano Concerto No.1 (Middle 6.5 Minutes of a 23 minute long piece)

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Longing to compose a Piano Concerto, this is my first foray into the fray. The entire piece is conceptually finished and 23 minutes long. I have yet to Orchestrate the second half of the work. Therefore: Here is the portion which comes after the Introduction as the piano begins the thematic study and exhibition upon it with Orchestra. I will download the entire piece within two months.

Playful complexity
Requires your full attention to properly listen to this wonderful creation. The solo piano has a gorgeous sound too! It's difficult to write a casual compliment when this deserves much more.
It's easy though, to simply admire the talent:)

Btw how did you play the last minute?! Please say it's midi and sped up:)

Intricate....
...and filled with all sorts of little rhythmic tricks and dissonances that let the music just perk with a certain mischievousness. It seems to be quite cinematic in nature, sort of in the fantasy, fantasmagoric mode — a little like a journey through a delightful nightmare envisioned by Tim Burton. Much fun to listen to. Not following a tune here, but, rather, a mood or feeling. It will be fun to hear where this all leads. (I think you might benefit with a deeper exploration of the backing orchestration. Seems like it should (1) be emphasized more; (2) have much more in terms of melodic elements. Something to think about... The "cute" ending doesn't strike me as being in character with the rest of this section. Just my two cents.
