Lyrics
Jetway
©2016 Philip VanDusen

The engines start to sing
Winds caress the wings
Flying on the end of a string
Into the blue
You go

The wheels have lifted off
Grey clouds whisper soft
Holding that bird aloft
What will I do
Don’t go

Tell me
Tell me was it all a dream (what did you see?)
A psychedelic color scheme (and we were free)
We were floating down a stream
Into the blue

The pictures that were so bright
Are fading fast from our sight
Disappear in the night
A long goodbye
We let go

Tell me
Tell me was it all a dream (what did you see?)
A psychedelic color scheme (and we were free)
We were floating down a stream
Into the blue

You’re on a jetway
Maybe someday
We’ll meet half-way
Now

Vapor trails start to fade
Sacrifices that were made
What was lost in this trade
You say that you tried
I know

Old School
I was going for that old late 60's early 70's shoegazing pseudo psychedlic genre thing. Glad you dug it!

Job
So cool you liked it enough to download. Listenership has shrunk so much at MJ now I struggle to get a dozen DL's when I used to get 80 back in the day!

Happy New Year Philip!
Sounds great - very nice, clear production, and your usual solid delivery. Sounds quite old-school (in a good way). Not sure about the last few bars, but purely a personal thing.
Have a terrific 2016.

HNY
In like a lion and out like a weakened lamb. I know, the end kinda weinies out - but better than a big final chord crescendo. Beginnings and endings are always my least considered parts. Thanks for the propd on the production. Coming from you, that means a lot.

high
Not on a plane - but thinking of flying away. A bit draggy in places I have come to believe, but it got the shoe-gazey place that I wanted to get to. Inspired by a song by Sloan, one of my fave power-pop bands. Thanks for the visit Vic.

I went to school for the fine arts, painting, and taught that for a while, but I am now a graphic design executive by day, and a musician most the rest of the time. I play guitar and bass mostly, do midi synth stuff, use drum machines ... [see more]
