Description
It's been a while since I submitted anything. The backing is a work in progress. It's a60's style ballad and my Collaborator (Anne) who does the vocal is planning on turning it into a Motown style harmony fest. Any feedback would be welcome. Cheers Richard

Lyrics
And so it’s true, you don’t hear me
Well this is the way that I feel
I know this real

Can’t undo all these changes
Having some things to say
But the words, they slip away.

CHORUS: -
So Don’t, don’t say it’s over
Don’t….. let it go cold.
Don’t walk away, I need you to stay
Or I………will die

I’m so confused, so revealing
When I’m with you, I see
What you have Oh yes I need

Don’t you know, a fool never changes
Ever his eyes will deny
What his mind knows is right

CHORUS: -

Caught in this landslide with you
Nowhere to turn will I ever, ever learn
All I can say is leave it let it fade away
I want to know what you know
And to feel what you say
Want to be with you now
Yes I know we can change.

Don’t change a thing, leave it ‘til later
These are the things I do
So don’t complicate it

Hearing it know, words have no meaning
Changing the way that I say
But still you walk away.

CHORUS: -

Earthy, powerful vocal. Strong backing, although maybe a bit too thumpy for mine (I think it's the bass?). Good the solo around 2:42. I like what you're doing here!

Immediately likeable
Go for the 60's sound - harmonies, jangly guitars. They all suit the song.

Ah, 60's Shelia sound
The production appears spot on, but perhaps a bit more percussion to push things harder?
A suggestion for the singer, the lyric is a much more desperate read than the vocal delivers. This is a mismatch.
Perhaps we recut the vocal with an eye to the emotional content of the words?
Got to have more emotion from the chantuse to sell the song, or, if she can't deliver the intensity to really match the words, go the parody route. The girl group 60s form this is modeled on does not work unless it is heart felt, got to hear that...

Good song. Very true to style. Anne has a fine voice but I wonder if the vocal effects employed are actually masking some of the emotion in her voice. Nice solo. Certainly worth pursuing. Thanks.
