Description
This is probably the last of my songs from my band, The Twilights, 1968-1970. Go to my song list to see the others. There's some distortion in the first 10 to 15 seconds, then it more or less settles down. I have others but the distortion from the original reel to reel may be too much to overcome, though I'm working on it...

This song is an energetic Philly soul sound tune. Originally recorded by the Intruders - check them out, some really great songs. To the best of my memory this was recorded at a rehearsal. Things to note: the great drumming by Dave Carlino. The great guitar work by Vince Roggio (at the time only 20 years old). And the great singing by Russell Shockley. Great times in my youth. Great time to remember.

Band memebers:
Vince Roggio: guitar
Russel Shockley: vocals
Don Shockley: bass
Dave Carlino: drums
Reggie Tucker: trumpet
Jack Miller: tenor sax

Whoa
Man this is crazy good. I've never played in more than a three piece band and playing with a real horn section is something that's on my bucket list. Love the drumming too. My parents were way into Philly and Detroit soul and they were going to all of these shows at this very moment 68-69 while my mom was pregnant and I like to think that I absorbed a love for this stuff from that. So yeah I was born the year you recorded this. Man this is so much fun. I'd kill to sing just once in front of a band like this.

Did you ever play Toronto?
Man, this brings back memories. Actually, I don't think I went to clubs much at that point but I sure remember tunes like this from the radio or at dances. Good times. You guys must have had some fun. Thanks Jack.

I still remember the 70's and that sound
and to think we survived it all. Thanks for the reminder.

Historic note: In Australia there was a band called THE TWILIGHTS they sort of morphed into "The Little River Band."

Hey there, F-H...
Glad we survived... And yes, I'm aware of The Twilights of much more famous historic note. They had the name first, though we were unawares of them at the time of our bands existence.

cheers...
