Lesse Le Bon Ton Rouer
In Cajun that means Let the Good Times Roll. Not so sure about proper French. Raised in Baton Rouge and heard this music at festivals and such quite a bit. If you mean written in proper music notes, then no they don't. It is a form of folk music and is mostly for dancing while consuming large amounts of alcohol. Ragged but right is your rendition here. More about attitude and style rather than technical ability.

My understandingis
that the music is an " aural "tradition which meant that I had to really listen...I did get a Mel Bay book, but the transcriptions by and large suck the life out of the music. I'd rather play it like this (Ist anniversary of teaching myself the fiddle this month as well )with passion and love for the spirit of the music....cheers Bronco.

I'm with Tom. Dancing and consuming large amounts of alcohol would go with this a treat. No need to write anything down when you play from the heart. Thanks, Jarvo.

A lot of fun Chris! Not all bad for a year of playing fiddle.

Long time no hear Chris!
I'm not Cajun so what I say may not count for much, but I like this a lot. Has a loose live feel. Can see myself square dancing to this! (A frightful sight indeed!)

Be well friend!

Fiddle me this
It sounds like the real deal to me! The fun you are having shines through in this recording - which means it's fun to listen to. Keep sawing away!
