Lyrics
Fuck Fifty

©2017 Joseph Gurner

They tell me I should act my age
but I don’t give a damn
Go to bed, go to work
like a little clone

Years go by, I lose my soul
I start to fade away, but
With a guitar in my hand
All I have to say is

Fuck Fifty

Fuck Fifty

Fuck fifty

Rebel, Rebel, they shout you down
and pour you in a mold
Dress like them, pray like them
color inside the lines

But I know how to break the chains
and set my spirit free, and
With a guitar in my hand
I shout for all to hear

Fuck Fifty

Fuck Fifty

Fuck fifty

I played it loud
That is a finger in the face of old age. I hit 50 last year and appreciate this gesture, am not ready for mediocrity just yet.

I turn 64 this month...
so quit your whining! Ha ha...

I find that every age has its downside as well as its upside.

You sure do express the downside of 50 quite well.

I hope this was therapeutic for you brother!

Be well!

Yep
You're right. You have maybe 8 or 9 good ones left. Use them wisely. Did any punk bands really play this good? Liked the riff playing all the way through. Your vocal was also sounding good to my ears.

F%@k Fifty!
You youngsters are corrupting the morals of our society! :-) Great vibe. Is 50 angst the new coming of age? Really like the guitar work, Joe. Hang in there, young-fella, you could go far in rock and roll :-) Refreshing.

Fifty Summers
I don't recall this being such a difficult year, fifty, Stooges' feel on this works to support the production.
The lead guitar works hard and matches the vocals for raw power.
Could have been more menacing perhaps with some top end sparkle? A nit.
Enjoyed yer angst. Thanks for sharing yer material here with us.

When I was a young man of fifty
When I turned fifty I wrote a reflective, philosophical song about the aging process. Fuck that. This way more expressively hits the mark.

And ten years from now you can switch out sixty for fifty and it will still hold up!
