Description
Another political screed. It must be the times we are living in.

That makes the genre ("political") choice easy. The hard decision was whether or not to click the "explicit content" button. Is the word "pussy" explicit? I decided it is.

This song combines three separate strands - lyrics for one song which sudden fit with the melody for a different song, plus the series of Trump-like tweets that were extracted from a long-running exchange of e-mails. Sometimes that's the way things come together.

Lyrics
ON YOUR KNEES [Buckley/Smith]

From what I hear all we have left is fear
it seems to be the only thing we're capable of growing
but I for one don't want to eat the fruits
of the parlous seeds we're sowing
I'm gunna swill my stockpiled beer
as the end of the life I imagined draws near

Fall down on your knees
so I can do as I do as I please
Old folks too!

Don't I look like a saint?
in orange spandex body paint
I do!
I’m stunning!

Wasn't I a sensation
at the 9th Circuit Court confrontation
I was! Just Amazing!

I didn't have to be cunning
I just let my motor mouth keep running
That's true!

Poets, painters, and patrician politicians
have fallen prey to zombic alt-right meretricians
Now we're all just a self-inflicted head shot from heaven
I say Amen!
Thank God I'm not Hindoo –
I wouldn't want to go through this all again

My tweets are misspelled and absurd
yet you hang on each and every word
Just Amazing!

You may think I'm crass
but you handed me your ass
No backsies

Grab ‘em by the pussy
and their hearts and minds will follow.
Losers!

I say it, Fox News repeats it, you believe it:
Circle of Life.

Frederick Douglas is dead?
I don’t believe it.
Fake News.

If they were any good
wouldn’t the 9th Circuit Court be the 1st?
So embarrassing.

what are you gunna do next?
Resist?
or just Persist?
Give me a break

Did you see all of the electoral votes
I won by by?
Landslide!

Bestest - President - Ever

He certainly seems a polarising figure. A Strongly expressed point of view. Interesting listening.

To be or not to be
In polarizing times .. there's no point in being wishy-washy. The fact is, Trump's ascension has forced everyone in the country to become more political whether they want to be or not to be. Thanks for listening.

Orange Terror
Experience is needed to make decisions about pussy. Could be a forbidden word, too much of it around for it to be uncommon, it could be exotic, but that depends on the presentation. Discretion should be practiced.
The main stream media hates Trump, Democrat party hates Trump, Republicans hate Trump, Socialists hate Trump, Hollywood hates Trump, Enviro Terrorists hate Trump, George Soros hates Trump, no one wants to admit he was elected at all, the delusional insist he cheated. Because we all know he had less than and a 3% probability to win the election according to all that polling.
Trump is a hate magnet. I wonder why? Should you wonder too...
The guitar work on yer productions is getting better all the time, the note choices are interesting, if a little stiff sounding against the backgrounds, but pitch is never a problem, a rare thing at MJ. Thanks for sharing your work!

Hate is a four letter word
As a general rule of thumb, I avoid being explicit because it represents language laziness. I can't help it - I was raised in a family of wordsmiths. But as you note, it depends on the presentation .. and here the tweet is intended to be graphic.

"Hate Magnet" could make a good song concept. I might have to work on that.

Who's delusional now?
I was certainly delusional when I said there's no way Donald Trump will get elected president of the United States of America. But then I said the same thing, twice, about George W. Bush .. so what do I know.

While (for me)
the subject matter is getting tiresome (and NO, I did not vote for Mr. Trump!) the tune is musically very interesting and engaging. And the way you put together the lyrics is very clever (and funny).

Nice job man!

Be well!

Not running out of material
Tiresome, indeed. And there are three years of more subject matter ahead. Yikes!

Brillaint!
Wonderful lyrics and I like the various changes.

It's interesting that you use a different voice you use for this. Sounds good.

Cheers

Voices
The second voice is that of my collaborator, Roy Buckley, who I somehow coerced into recording the tweets. I had originally done all the lines, but it needed a distinctly different voice for the speaking parts.

A problem in writing these topical songs is events move so fast that it can already be old news by the time the song gets produced and posted. Old news - not to be confused with fake news.

(Trump) Tower Of Babble

Frustration with the current state of affairs has reminded me of a science-fiction title, "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream," by Harlan Ellison.

The outrage in this song is appreciable — and warranted. You've channeled your frustration well... and artfully here, punkin' a punk. ;)

Tweeting
It's surprising (well, maybe not that surprising) how easy it is to write lyrics in Donald Trump's tweet style. But because it is easy, after a while you feel unfilled by the lack of creativity in the endeavor.

"I was
certainly delusional when I said there's no way Donald Trump will get elected president of the United States of America."

Ditto. I thought no way in hell! He was his own campaign mudslinger, didn't really need the competition to do it, and STILL made it. I was stunned for at least a week.

So much a fitting 'tribute.'

Fruit salad
I just love all of the parts in this song Warren. Its like a musical fruit salad. All of the ingredients on their own are tasty, but when you put them all together you are overwhelmed with flavour.
(That made sense to me when I wrote it, but I'm not so sure now)

no holds barred - the tweet form is a great choice - the wandering guitar sounds really good here. You have a singular talent that grows with each outing.

Deep Mind
The tweet format here, rather simplistically, is an effort to fight fire with fire. I probably shouldn't disparage the tweet as a lyrical scheme. Think of how complex a Japanese haiku with its seventeen syllable limitation can be. There's no reason the 140-character tweet can't offer intricacies .. when employed by somebody who is capable of deep thought.

First thoughts
Ha-ha .. when I read your comment .. the first thing that popped into my mind was to do a re-write of Jerry Lee Lewis's 1957 "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" .. changing it to the contemporary vibe of "There's a whole lot of faking going on" : )

Great job. The chorus and melody after are really well arranged with drum part mixed in just right. The playing is TIGHT. And your wit is as good as it gets. Glad to see it put to good use.
