RIP Däva Jonah
Monday, July 08 2019 @ 08:01 AM CDT

The following message was posted on Facebook a couple of hours ago:

"Dear family and friends, firstly apologies to those we have not spoken to in person, but there are just too many of you. Marcus and I are devastated to have to tell you that our wonderful partner/dad Däva Jonah (baz) passed away on Saturday 6th July. We will post funeral details as soon as we can. Feel free to contact either me or Marcus via FB message. If you know anyone that Baz might know that is not on social media please contact them on our behalf."

With the search function inconsistently working, Dava's music can be found here:

Oh no, this is a real shock.

I met Dave a couple of times and got to know him quite well.

A lovely bloke. Intelligent, funny and a very decent human being.

I have a further update.

He went for a heart operation last Wednesday but there was a problem and he lost a lot of blood. Unfortunately his body could not recuperate and he died on Saturday. The family are devastated, as you would expect.

Oh, no. He was a MacJams mate, the creator of some fantastic ambient music, and I'm certain he was a great teacher.

Sympathy to the family and other friends.

RIP Dava, we will miss you.

This is really sad news.
Dave seemed like such a decent guy, someone I'd have liked to have met in real life. We collaborated on a song of Dave's - "Mines Of Mirak"https://www.macjams.com/song/45410 - and kept in touch for quite a while after that.
My condolences to Dave's family and friends.

Thanks for posting this and I'm really sorry to hear it.

I've "known" Dava since these GB communities began. Pretty sure he was prominent on MacIDOL for a while as well, and we, more recently, conversed on occasion in our Facebook Mac group.

RIP, Dava. Frown

Oh no, that's some really terrible news!

I felt we were kindred spirits, at least in (ambient) music making (he was also into dub, which I am not). My all time favorite of his songs is Ynys Enlli Rebirth www.macjams.com/song/70495 about an island north of Wales that seems to have meant a lot to him, as a place of rebirth...

But there are 134 songs to choose from, so find your own favorite to remember him by.

It's kind of reassuring what he says on his profile page: "I was born a while ago and I'm still around."

Rest in peace.
