Although I am unabashedly a relative newcomer to this group, I spent many happy hours – particularly when the front page featured a random song picker – discovering by happy accident the astonishing variety of songs that are (now, buried ...) here.   This artist's works were always among the most compelling and yet also the most unusual.   Peace.

What a shock. I met him a couple of times, he was always so positive and supportive of me, and always happy to chat.

I feel very privileged to have known him, and very sad that he's no longer with us.

Sad news
We tried to meet up in Liverpool once but our time lines didnt cross
I found his music such a great way to relax and chill out to
If I was ever feeling stressed out I'd put some of his music on and in a short time I was all chilled.
He was aslo imtelligent with very kind words of encouragment
He'll be missed

An entire world-wide on-line community will be right there with you in spirit ... as we continue to re-enjoy the music that will forever(!) live on.

But now, as to the matter of those subsequent beers ... hmmm ...

Life ends. Music doesn't.

That is very sad news. Dava was one of the first musicians I met here back in 2005 and a very active participant in Virtual Garage. Always a joy to talk to and seemed to love experimenting, collaborating and sharing his music. I have a lot of catching up to do. Simon? How about a "Download Archive" button?

Back in the day, if I found music I wanted to play on the radio, I would send out an email introducing myself and asking permission to use the music and for a brief bio for our listeners. What follows is Dava's response to that request, back in 2005.

"Hi Blaine, Real name is David Jones, I'm a teacher. I live in Merseyside [where the
Beatles are from hum...] married, with a 16 year old son who has just
joined his first band [proud dad!] and a wife who is a choreographer.

Been listening to music all my life - all sorts - play a little guitar,
blues-harp and penny whistle. I didn't start making my own music until
about nine months ago upon the acquisition of Apple's GarageBand, then became
one of those people you talk about on your show! My set up is an iMac
and an M-Audio keyboard, not exactly in the garage, but not far from it! I
love it, truly great! I'm making my own music now, and some people even like it.
What a buzz! And the real nice thing for me are the people I've met on the
net who are doing exactly the same thing. I've made a lot of new friends,
and listened to some terrific music too.

Be great to be on a Californian radio station!

Cheers, Dava"

A gentleman and a scholar. He inspired me.

My music is much better than it sounds.

This saddens me deeply. A great person and musician has left us. Thank you Dava for the help, chats, music and support.
