If Everybody Worked As Hard As Me

The 2nd of several pieces composed for the Monash University production of Vinega Tom. Sung by Paula Yineth Bahamon.

This piece is largely atonal (theres even a 12 tone row in there somewhere) so its likely that this probably won't be your cup of tea here... but I've uploaded it here none the less. If you want to listen to something in particular... notice that the piano is actually the cause of the reversed piano sounds.

Very interesting
I find very amusing, interesting and somehow sinister how the childish
song evolve to be almost-dodecafonic. What I would like to hear are
longer instrumental parantheses between verses, just to underline the
various sections, but also to bring all ideas to complete development.
That would also allow the listener to taste all atmospheres, to think about
what has listened to, to listen to the various layers in a more complex

"the piano is acutally the cause of the reversed piano sound."
Does this mean that the piano piece is being played backward and is
mixed with a forward piano? Anyway, really like the result of the
backwards piano. At times it sounds like a string instrument, at other
times like some electronic noise. But what interests me the most is how
well the voice and the piano, both forward and backward, work together
regarding tone and pitch, and as with all your pieces, the use of space.
