More in my series of pop songs. This isn't 60's pop though. I was going for a late 70's New York kind of pop. Jonathan Richman, The Velvet Underground, The Cars,...

I recorded this with a drum machine that's built into a Casio I have and threw some percussion over the beat on the choruses. I kind of have an obsession with old Casio's and the wife is begging me to get rid of some of them. I love her, but it's never gonna happen. No band on this one, all me (for better or worse).

I have no idea, made them up as I went along and it's just nonsense for the most part. You couldn't understand Lou Reed half the time either.

so true
doen't matter what the words say, no one listens to them anyway, I can't remember who sung that? but its true> reminds me of a Eno type of song where feeling is more important than expensive instruments, you do a good idea with what you have... I love toast with jelly and butter

Excellent production
Perfectly recorded, very pro. Radio ready, as they used to say (back when people listened to radio). I love the track, altho for the length of the track my ears wanted a tad more development, like a bridge or something. (If it is destined for a CD, you don't need more development, if it sites between more developed songs.) For 2 and 1/2 minutes, its brilliant. The vocal stylings have an end of day satisfied tiredness that is both hip and lazy, almost drug induced, and I like the rhyming scheme; top notch. Full of personality and very enjoyable. Wonderful guitar work too. Excellent production.

Nice nice stuff
Love the laid-back Cars-like style here... the bass-line is great, though a break would be good... guitar-work is fun, and the dreamy slurred singing works well (scary to think what would happen if you actually thought up lyrics then!) Cool catchy tune!

I like this a lot. Got a sweet, uptown kind of Dandy Warhol thing going on. Very cool. Great sound - the production is nice. Can't decide if I think it would benefit from a bridge or if it would lose its magic if something too dramatic happened. Either way, nice work. Looking forwrad to hearing more.

i felt
the same way about a bridge. so i just subtley changed what i was singing. i used to feel like i needed a bridge and a chorus in everything i did, but i started to get bored with the classic song structure. thanks for stopping by.

Cool track Michael
ya know - I shot the You Might Think I'm Crazy video. I still can't get that song out of my head - they were a catchy bunch those guys. This reminds me a little of The Cars mixed with Chilton's Like Flies on Sherbert. Don't know why exactly - it's a cross between the polish and the duh.

Don't do it! Any song like this that comes
out of a Casio should be worshipped. Thanks for the download!

4 Years Later
This just popped up on the iPod and I'm like, "Huh? Who's this?" Kinda sounds like the Stones, but the singer sounds like Michael2...."

Sorry I didn't comment 10 years ago when this was a new post. I love it.
