Description
And old ragtime piano tune. Supposed to sound like a piano laughing because it's getting, um, "tickled."

Hardware:
Sony Mini Disc player/recorder and Sony stereo mic. I usually record solo guitar using Neumann mics and Pro Tools. But I did this one before I had that stuff. The guitar is a 1923 Martin 0-18. No cracks and not refinished. The replica bridge is the only thing not original.

A Martin O-18....
....no cracks and not refinished?

Are you trying to drive me out of my mind!?

Sounds great, Bob. I love this style and you play it well. And the guit? Well....let's just say that I'm normally not this shade of green.

yeah,
and light as a feather. yet with all that hoopla, it actually had kind of a crude sound. perfect for an old ragtime piece.

I came to listen to this tune after listening to all your others, because of the probs mentioned in the Forum but for me your music's loud and clear as a bell. Very nice and easy sounding.M

fine pickin'
Really nice warm live recording. Very good for the equipment you had. Very good transcription of a piano piece to guitar.

i do use Protools (LE) and Mbox with Neumann mics usually. but sometimes, basic works, too. i just love being able to sit down and hit the record button. no fussing and futzing.

i'm kinda glad that you made the critical comments you did on the forum. ("not that there's anything wrong with that" as the Seinfeld saying goes.) seems like that might have made you more inclined to listen. and i will take your advice. your music will be one of the first i check out. thanks again.

St. Louis
As a transplanted St. Louisian and a fan of ragtime this one had two big pluses in my book.

Very good job on playing and recording. The guitar sounded a little hot in spots, but overall a good song and rendition.

thanks,
i'm surprised the recording sounds as good as it does, considering the equipment. and on closer listening, i would record this over. the tempo is too fast and there are a few misses here and there.
