This track is meant to depict the wind down and anticlimactic, dream-haunted sleep of those extraplanetary explorers in Planetfall, my last track. None of the images in their sleep could have been experienced on Earth or in the reefer sleep caskets during their journey out of the solar system. The images they see are all as a result of what they experience on their new home.

There are three other Ambient pieces that are finished, so these will follow over the next week or so.

As always I'm interested in any thoughts/ideas you may have.

Dream state
The monotone drone is terrific. It sets the entire 'tone' of the piece. Dreams, but very intense and drawn out, as opposed to chaotic. Everything is buried deep in the mix. Nicely done. An intriguing idea -- that a different type of dream would be inspired by a different type of experience, a type of dream that no one has ever had before. Impressive piece of space ambient.

Hi Duane........
The psychology of the moment always interests me and if you experience things in real life you will go through the impressions left on your mind during your sleep hours, hence my story line, new experiences, new dream material.

Thanks for your thoughts on this one.

Take care.

Very nice drones here with a bit of percussive elements and starring some nice sound garnish for continuos interest.

If I may suggest something that you may still be able to improve, and not in this piece alone, is the somewhat abrupt ending. If you want to fade out, that's OK with me, but I suggest you do it all the way, and not cut it beforehand. I know at least one dragon on this site who enjoys a "resolved" ending too, but that may not be the most prominent feature of sapce ambient... (Hm, on second listen it wasn't even very abrupt on this one, but still.)

Thanks again for sharing and take care.

Hi Henke......
I'll take more care with the outro's if they affect you (and others) in this way. I don't have an exact formula for fade-out but do put some thought into the ending. I'll have to put extra thought in and listen to the finished piece a couple more times to see how it sounds and fades out. It's great that you offer suggestions such as this, Henke. I really find this helpful.

Thanks and take care.

glad you take it that way. I have learnt a lot from many helpful comments from many members over the years. Lately I feel there is almost only the highest praise for everything, which is very good for confidence etc, but if you feel yourself that something is lacking in your song I guess it can be a bit too much of it. --- Eh, no, I guess not! :-) Anyway, a very nice track! /Henke

Hi Henke.....
I think that there is always something to be learned. It may not be an easy lesson but if the lesson is heeded, the learner will grow.

Take care.
