Hanging Around

Here another piece I made a while back and have finished over this weekend. There are elements of other pieces in this mix, but hopefully this wont put people off of the piece as a whole.

Whilst working on this I couldn't get the idea of 'hanging around' out of my head hence the title. Nothing else came, as a title, so the name stuck.

As always I appreciate your thoughts on my pieces.

there's some energy in this one! a little different for you - a beautiful departure. i love it. kind of frenetic underneath, but the steady beat keeps it all in control. it's like one of those see-through orbs, with the wildly dancing streams of electricity inside. awesome tune, Paul.

Hi Shay........
I like to try different things, and this mix is a little bit different. I like your thoughts on this one. They give me lots to imagine as I listen to the piece again. with me composing is like a box of chocolates, as Forrest Gumps' mum may have said in another life/film/story. I never know exactly what's going to come out of my speakers next!!

Take care.

Hanging around
Some really nice touches throughout. Surprising popping up out of nowhere. Very inventive. I love complex rhythm patterns. This almost has a polyrhythmic feel about it. Love the mix. It sounds close but it surrounds. It doesn't sound like hanging around to me. It sounds very industrious and labor intensive.

Hi Duane.......
I'm trying new things again with this one. I think of my music as slowly evolving, as my LFO's tend to do within each mix. Hopefully!!

There were 5 stereo pairs used with this mix. The final 3 pairs were mixed with one pair unchanged, one pair with longish-delay reverb, and one pair with tightish grouping in the stero image, so I'm not surprised you heard what you heard. It's a phase I'm going through.

Take care.

Fluffy space stuff
Have always been a fan of dreamy spacestrings and ambient. Listened to some of your beats and think i like this one best. It has good elements of the unexpected adding a greater mystique to the dreamy strings. Like the bright synth in the end.

Very enjoyable ambient, ill DL 5-6 of em next time im gonna oilpaint something. Will be an inspiering and exploring stimula in non musical creativity.
