I guess this song does what it says on the tin. Not the worlds greatest consumer, more a replacer of stuff when it wears out!

Jeans, Guitar strings

Houses in the Future
Homes in the past
Emotional foundations
That were built to last

Warm Summer days
Walk through the cornfields
That came up to your waist
That came up to your waist

When stuff wears out
I just trade it in
Jeans, guitar strings
Jeans, guitar string

Sitting on the back step
With dads Players No.6
The things I value
Mostly come from inside me

Was that just an illusion of romance
About as likely as
Rain from a cloudless sky
Rain from a cloudless sky

Daydream my way back
To the last decade
Of the Hollywood stars
Of the Hollywood stars

Parky new them all then
The world was more secure then
Parky new them all then
The world was more secure then

I’m an Eskimo in the desert
Whats my name?
Just an Eskimo in the desert
Whats my name

Nice rhythm guitar rhythm
And a thought-provoking concept--I'm certainly a beneficiary (and maybe an abuser) of our disposable culture. (Although
I find it hard to find someone who will take my used guitar strings as a trade-in.) Thanks for posting!

hey you guys
you're singing a song american style....but why is the corn only going up to your waist...isn't the corn miles high in america...or maybe it's been genetically de-modified.
anyway, that's the continuity out the way....good song...nice riff...clear lyrics..nice mix. you're the guys who wrote the fox slips under the wheel...right? nice traces of the same style in here...nice.

Nice concept
I like the sentiment and identify it with completely!

I buy all my stuff from charity shops (pity they don't sell strings.

Nice bit of rhythm work.

Love that intro... Vocal work is very cool. I loved where this was going but was really hoping for a big chorus... I think you could have taken the chorus to another level with lots more going on and widening and it would have given this tune a real push up.

Cool tune!

My fav
of your songs so far. This one has some attitude. I agree the chorus could be built up with a guitar with some distortion and some harmonies etc. Good song though. Enjoyed it.
