Description
Oldie - cleaned up in GB.

Pretty sure that the 'Trumpet' solo is a smaller version of the CZ-101.

Lyrics
Well the Girl with the World in eyes
Let me tell you about her
It would certainly be a surprise
If you knew all about her

She told me she'd fallen in love a long time ago
But I wasn't there
How can I be expected to know?

And, Oh no - it's happened again
Why can't you keep them as friends?
On no - what can be done
With God's Favourite Son?

Well the Girl with the Stars in her eyes
Let me tell you about them
They can twinkle at you in a delicate hue
If you find them

You can bathe in their light
On some dark starry night as you lay
But can anyone tell me
why stars seem so distant today?

Oh no - it's happened again
Why can't you keep them as friends?
Say - oh no - what can be done
with God's Favourite Son?

Well, the Girl with Two Worlds in her mind
Let me tell you about it
My advice to the wise
Just take every sunrise as you find it

The God's have their ways
of upsetting the best laid of plans
But take care of the heart
of this 'not quite so innocent' man

Say - oh no, it's happened again
Why can't you keep them as friends?
Say - oh oh - what will become
of God's Favourite Son
of God's Favourite Son?

Very nice
A lovely acoustic ditty...the low fi-ness gives it a nice field recording feel. I like the melodies, the guitar picking and the plaintive vocal
Cheers

hidden jewel
Lovely tune with a Donovan/McCartney feel I love. A classic feel, as if this song has been in the human consciousness for centuries. I kind of missed the hiss once it faded out, it wove itself so conceptually into the whole. Thanks for sharing this.

The hiss.......

Think of it was the recording equivalent to the, "Thump, Thump, Thump" at the end of a 33rpm album :-)

Always nice to have you stop by Tobin.....
