1st verse

I’d like to pour you another but just go somewhere else

It’s getting old, this pity party you throw for yourself

There’s no streamers or balloons, just the Captain, Jimmy and Jack

They’ve been your only guests now, since she wouldn’t take you back

2nd verse

How many times are you gonna say that you didn’t deserve good-bye?

And it’s her loss for leaving you, before you break down and cry

If she had just held out one day, you know you can prove her wrong

All I see is the tears of a fool, but in one more drink they’ll be gone

Don’t lose yourself in another round

We don’t need another face in this heartbreak crowd

I’m trying to help you up, but you just fall down

Don’t lose yourself in another round

You’re not the first and you won’t be the last

To come and see me when your world goes black

You’re looking for answers where they can’t be found

Don’t lose yourself in another round

Stranger you won’t find what you came here for

That empty feeling can’t be ignored

There’s no redemption, just take it from me

The bottom of that glass will make you see

Blaming others for the mess you’re in

Is just the start of the bitter end

You’ll leave here like they all do

Knowing what you already knew

Repeat chorus

3rd verse

I’m wiping up your hurt pride you said wouldn’t last that long

Serve you up a double, the only thing here that’s strong

Letting the past give you a helping of the way things used to be

Taking it with a smile and another shot of whiskey

Repeat chorus

April Knoll

Another Round
I'll have another round of this song. The bartender sings with a sweet voice. Sounded really good in my headphones. In particular, the voices in the chorus (all one person?) reminded me somewhat of Karen Carpenter's voice which is a big compliment (I hope).

Very nice song. Vocals are great and the harmony on the chorus even better. Lyrics are interesting and tell a story but leaves enough to our imagination to keep us right there with you.
andrew did a good job with the arrangement and kept it simple but very cool. The bass/drums rhythm groove is solid and just right. The accordion gave it that extra icing on the cake. Not anything I would do different. Beautiful work!

This is a really nice song of its type ...
This is the sort of song that ought to go $$places.$$   It has a very well thought-out lyric, the point-of-view of the lady bartender watching a man destroy himself with drink, and all the other good stuff that ought to get airplay.

Well put together song. Subtle and touching. Kristine does a fine job on the vocals. And it is good to hear some accordion. Thanks, gang. Regards, Peter.

Flows beautifully. Smooth guitar from Andrew, Freddy keeping things together, nice touches from Billy. The vocals from from April and Kristine are engaging - I especially like the harmony sections. Good one!

Great job leading this one to the finish line Freddy. Although I don't think I deserve credit for the arrangement. That goes to you. Hats off to April for getting this project started with her excellent lyrics. And Kristine delivers them wonderfully. Love what Billy brought to the track. The accordion perfectly fits the vibe of the tune and the bass is rock solid.

Great song. I love the accordion.

Around 1:05 there is an excess of low-mid frequencies. Some cutting might make the mix more transparent.

Oh, I think I have it: at 1:30 you start playing a bass line on the low strings of the acoustic guitar. Cute effect. But the mix there really brings out that that guitar should have had some cutting.
