Description
I'm posting this recent version (April) that I had uploaded to iCompostions which, as most now know, will cease on August 11th. I want to keep it online, if only until MacJams goes down (hopefully no time soon). Mike Wark (Calchas), with whom I had the pleasure of participating in many collaborations, inspired me with his version in 2006. I followed his a week or two later with my own. Thanks Mike! This is my revisit/remix/tweak of a song that carries much meaning for me.

Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end...

Lyrics
I am a poor wayfaring stranger
Travelling through this world of woe
There's no sickness, no toil nor danger
In that bright land to which I go

Chorus:
Yes I'm going over Jordan
Just going, no more to roam
Only going over Jordan
Just going to my home

I know dark clouds will gather round me
I know my way is rough and steep
But golden fields lie out before me
Where all the saints their vigils keep

Chorus:
I'm going there to meet my father
I'm going there no more to roam
I'm just going over the river Jordan
I'm going over to my home

I want to wear a crown of glory
When I get home to that bright land
I want to shout Salvation's story
In concert with that blood-washed band

Chorus:
I'm going home to meet my mother
I'm going there no more to roam
I'm just going over the river Jordan
I'm going over, I'm going home

I'll soon be free from earthly trials
This body rests in the orchard's yard
I'll drop this cross of self-denial
And go singing home to my God

Chorus:
I'm going there to see my Saviour
To sing His praise for evermore
I'm just-a going over Jordan
I'm going over to my home

I'm a just a wayfaring stranger
Travelling through this world of woe
There's no sickness, no toil no danger
In that bright land to which I go

Like the imaging
of your mix. The guitars offer a full sound. Your vocals sound great in the mix. Nice job on the mix and execution.
