Description
last fall I finally bought a Roland guitar synth and well.... it was opening a pandoras box to say the least. all instruments, guitars, synths are created from it, except the electronic drums.

it does have great guitars and string instruments of a lot of types. plus you can combine different guitars on the same track for a new sound

This sounds really neat...
I like the tones you've chosen, and the way that you've blended them. I'm listening on a MacBook Pro, so on tiny speakers, and it still sounds lush and spacious, which suggests to my mind that you've got an adaptable mix here. As always, the guitar playing itself is tasteful, chiming and terrific. I like that little burst that sounds like backwards guitar. I've been messing around with using the MIDI Guitar 2 plugin to trigger instruments with a guitar, but I'll admit to envy that you've a Roland: they seem to have been out ahead in this area for decades.

it is a pandoras box. i spent months just going through the different settings and making a few of my own. the only thing about it is that they haven't updated the driver for the computer. the best thing is I don't have to sit in front of a computer to play software instruments

Wow.
OK, the Roland may be just a machine, but holy cow this thing is being well played. If they knew about this track Roland might be tempted to pay you to promote the thing! You put a lot of life into the sound of this and it is one of those I started to download before it finished playing. Enjoyed it today and will be enjoying it again. Thanks for putting it here.

thanks much
whats under the hood is whats interesting with this. you can get into some detailed sounds and mixes when you edit your own patch. one track can have 3 to 4 different sounds, plus a lot of effects. i spent months just asorbing myself into it.

Hi Tim
the original model of this thing came out in the mid '90's. always wanted one and finally gave in. alot of presets are pretty good. But editing your own stuff can get really trippy.

"every new toy comes with a song built right into it." I'll wager this toy has a BUNCH of great tunes in it!

All I can say is WOW!!! This is beyond gorgeous Vic. You have really outdone yourself this time. I can't wait to play this for Diane...

It's still for sale.

I take it you need the special midi pickup as well?

Tempted!

Vic Holman said 111 days ago (March 30th, 2019)
yes
you will need the GK3 pickup & midi cable. It's easiest to install on a strat or strat style guitar. You can use the 2 sided sticky tape (included) for the pickup, that way there is no damage to the guitar itself. Otherwise there are 2 small screws to make it more secure over the long run.
